About Mind the Wait

Careful support for an overlooked part of care.

Mind the Wait exists for the days, nights and practical gaps between asking for mental-health help and receiving it.

What this site does

It offers small private tools, preparation guides and links to established services. It helps people describe what is happening, keep referrals active and find appropriate support. It does not diagnose, prescribe, monitor visitors or replace professional care.

How information is chosen

  • Prefer NHS, government, recognised professional bodies and established specialist charities.
  • Separate urgent help from optional self-help.
  • Describe exercises as choices, never cures or guaranteed treatments.
  • Avoid telling visitors to start, stop or change medication.
  • Date-check telephone numbers, national routes and medical claims.

Editorial responsibility

Mind the Wait is an independent information project. It is not an NHS service and the current material has not been clinically endorsed. Clinical pages should receive qualified professional review as the project develops. Material errors should be corrected promptly.

Privacy and safeguarding

The tools work in the browser and do not require an account. Do not enter identifying information on a shared device. The site is not continuously monitored and cannot provide crisis intervention through messages. Any future account, community or messaging feature would require a separate privacy, moderation and safeguarding process before launch.

Commercial links

Product links are labelled and kept separate from support services. Products are never presented as treating a mental-health condition, and nothing is essential to buy. Free support and professional care come first.
